Definition of Capitoline games

(Antiq.) annual games instituted at Rome by Camillus, in honor of Jupiter Capitolinus, on account of the preservation of the Capitol from the Gauls; when reinstituted by Domitian, after a period of neglect, they were held every fifth year.
