a.1.Resulting or issuing from a combination; existing or following as a result or consequence.
Resultant force
(Mech.) a force which is the result of two or more forces acting conjointly, or a motion which is the result of two or more motions combined. See Composition of forces, under Composition.
n.1.(Mech.) That which results.
The resultant of homogeneous general functions of n variables is that function of their coefficients which, equaled to zero, expresses in the simplest terms the condition of the possibility of their existence.
